Diagonals

A diagonal is used to allow you to mount an eyepiece at an angle to the rear cell of the scope. A diagonal usually makes for a more comfortable viewing position - you can be seated on an observing chair looking down into an eyepiece through a diagonal, rather than sitting on the ground and looking up into the scope.
