Baader Planetarium 1.25" Methane filter

R4,045.00

Baader Planetarium 1.25" Methane (890nm/8nm) filter.

The methane (CH4) filter developed by the Baader Planetarium of Germany is a specialized filter that allows light to pass through it in the near infrared portion of the spectrum centered at 889nm (8890 angstroms) but only 8nm wide; hence the designation narrow bandpass.

Optical filters take away but they can not add anything to an image that is not there. By diminishing portions of the spectrum that we do not wish to see filters can make what we intend to study appears more prominently. So filters can render obvious that which is otherwise invisible.

Plan-optically polished.

Hard-coated
